Mark Cunningham is the President and CEO Symmetrics, - a data analysis software development company based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Unlike Most corporate executives Mark has taken a keen interest in the development and creation of Symmetrics Cycling Project. As a junior, Mark became involved in the sport of cycling more than 20 years ago and competed in his first race at the Tour de White Rock. After a few short years in the cycling arena Mark transitioned to the sport of triathlon at the age of 16 where he was a member of the BC Triathlon Team competing at the national championship level in both Canada and the US in Olympic Distance events. In 1986 Mark competed in the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon as the youngest competitor but after a less than stellar performance he returned to Hawaii in 1987 to improve his result. In the years following Ironman Mark competed in numerous short course triathlons in Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand. Mountain biking took over Mark's interest during most of the 90's and at the beginning of 2001 Mark jumped back into the road cycling arena one more time where he has become a tremendous supporter of cycling. Mark's commitment to the sport and the Symmetrics Cycling Project will pave the way for many Canadian athletes, able and disabled, to reach their potential at a time when they may not otherwise have had access to opportunities.
Mark holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. When he is not relaxing at his home in Vancouver, BC, Mark enjoys backcountry flying, digital filmmaking, photography, and playing his guitar
