Zach grew up in the Yukon in a small gateway community named Watson Lake. He was a freestyle wrestler for 10 years, but switched to cycling in university. In 2002, he bought his first road bike, got disqualified from his first race, and had his first crash. He has since then become a member of the Canadian national team. Racing is both his passion and profession as Zach has been extremely successful on the road and on the velodrome.
